The Dunes Summer Theatre is proud to bring this classic tale to life for young audiences and their parents. The story centers around a little girl named Fern Arable’s pet pig, Wilbur. Fern’s father spares Wilbur from slaughter, and allows Fern to nurture the piglet into adulthood. Eventually Wilbur is sold to Fern’s uncle, Homer Zuckerman, where he is left yearning for companionship. Sadly Wilbur is snubbed by the other barn animals, until a spider named Charlotte, befriends him. Upon Wilbur’s discovery that he is again intended for slaughter, Charlotte promises to hatch a plan guaranteed to spare his life and win him friends in the end.
