A Midsummer Night’s Dream portrays the events surrounding the marriage of Theseus, (the Duke of Athens) and Hippolyta, (the former queen of the Amazons). The story follows the evening adventure of four young Athenian lovers, a group of six mechanics/amateur actors preparing a play for the royal wedding, and a kingdom of fairies who inhabit the forest in which most of the play is set. The play is one of Shakespeare’s most popular works for the stage, filled with love, laughter, and magic.

    Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?

    By Edward Albee

    Directed by Andy Leahy

    Performance Dates: March 10 thru 26, 2023

George, a professor at a small college, and his wife, Martha, have just returned home, drunk from a Saturday night party. Martha announces, amidst general profanity, that she has invited a young couple—an opportunistic new professor at the college and his shatteringly naïve new bride—to stop by for a nightcap. When they arrive the charade begins. The drinks flow and suddenly inhibitions melt. It becomes clear that Martha is determined to seduce the young professor, and George couldn't care less. But underneath the edgy banter, which is crossfire between both couples, lurks an undercurrent of tragedy and despair.

    The Revolutionists:

A comedy, a quartet, a revolutionary dream fugue, a true story

    By Lauren Gunderson

    Directed by Linda Pauli

    Performance Dates: June 2-18, 2023

The Revolutionist is a new play about four very real badass women who lived boldly in France during the French Revolution's Reign of Terror.

Playwright Olympe de Gouges, assassin Charlotte Corday, former queen (and fan of ribbons) Marie Antoinette, and Haitian rebel Marianne Angelle hang out, murder Marat, and try to beat back the extremist insanity in 1793 Paris.  This grand and dream-tweaked comedy is about violence and legacy, art and activism, feminism and terrorism, compatriots and chosen sisters, and how we actually go about changing the world. It’s a true story. Or total fiction. Or a play about a play. Or a raucous resurrection…that ends in a song and a scaffold.
